A cold front in a moist air mass with the support of a strong jet stream will cause a period of heavy mountain snow Wednesday through Friday this week. The peak snow intensity looks to be Thursday, and will be accompanied by strong winds. Precipitation in the valleys is very uncertain with a mix of rain and snow expected over the 3-day period. There will be drastic differences between the conditions in the mountains and the valleys.
