There is a high probability, 80 to 90 percent of the three ensemble systems (American, Canadian & ECMWF) for the coldest temperatures of the 2024-2025 season to occur across western Montana next weekend. There is also a high probability as far west as the Camas Prairie near Grangeville, Idaho (70-80%) for the colder effects of this airmass to be felt. This cold air influx could bring an elevated risk to agriculture, newborn livestock and dangerously cold wind chills for people and pets outdoors.
