Thunderstorm chances increase greatly across the Panhandles starting from mid to late afternoon into the evening. Individual storms will quickly merge into an organized cluster of storms and that's when the highest probability for damaging winds will exist. Locally heavy rain will also be a concern. The storms will move from northwest to southeast starting in the northwest corner of the area. A couple of storms may form just to the east or southeast of Amarillo late this afternoon.
