Severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon into the overnight hours. This is a fairly large time frame for this potential, but there is considerable uncertainty in how this severe storm potential will unfold. Storms are likely northwest of the area Monday night – Tuesday morning. There are a couple of scenarios on how this system affects our storm potential. 1) The upstream cluster of storms maintains itself and moves into NW MO/NE KS early in the afternoon. 2) The upstream system weakens as it moves into NW MO/ NE KS and lays out an outflow boundary that provides a focus for storm development in the area later in the afternoon and into the evening.
